The Utilization Pattern of Dental Service of Disabled Childrcns and Their Relationship to the Parents Prcccption of Oral Health Related Behaviour

Abstract
|
|
|
The purpose of this study are designed to investigate the relationship between parents perception of oral health related behaviors and on their disabled children utilization of dental service. A survey with questionnare was conducted among the parents of disabled children who had lived in Seoul and Kyoungki province areas. I3ependence variables were utilization of dental service of disabled children. Independence variables were parents sociodermographic condition and perception of oral health related behavior of parents. Chi-square test and logistic multiple regression analysis were performed to analysis how the independent variables influence on dependent variable.
The major findings are summarized as follows:
1. The children whose parents were the thirty years aged groups and those with higher education levels groups showed frequently to use the dental clinic(p<0.05). But parents income levels and working time factor do not the statistically significant difference.
2. The disabled children´s whose parents were more interested in their children´s oral health, more frequently observed their children oral condition, those with having the positive attitude to the early treatment and regularly check up had more frequently used dental service.
3. Kindness of dentist and treatment fee show the statistically significant(p<0.05). But the degree of the disabled status and accessibility do not show the statistically significant. Management problem of the disabled children treatment had been proven the most difficult problem.
